Privacy Policy

This policy explains what SMMILE DIGITAL PTE LTD (“we”) collects when you use FirstPaw, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short on purpose.

What we collect

• Quiz answers and results. The answers you pick about your dog and the result you get. You can play without giving us your name or email.
• Dog profile (optional). If you choose to add it: your dog’s name, breed group, size, type of home, who else lives with the dog, how long it is left alone, and (when the quiz didn’t ask) age and daily practice time. Apart from the name these are tick-box choices. The name is used in your plan, emails and report. It is never sent to the AI provider.
• Email address and consent. Only if you enter it to unlock your 7-day plan, save your progress, or sign in with a magic link. When you do it for the plan, we store your email together with your quiz answers and dog profile, the wording you agreed to, and the date, because you agreed to that when you ticked the box. You can ask us to delete it or to stop emailing you at any time.
• Account and device identifiers. A random guest account ID, a random device ID stored in your browser, and a salted hash of your IP address (used for rate limiting and abuse prevention). We do not store your raw IP address in our database.
• Purchases. What you bought, the amount, and a reference from our payment provider. Card and wallet details are handled by the payment provider and never reach our servers.
• Usage events. Simple events such as quiz started, quiz completed, email given, report purchased, and clicks to the training course, tied to your guest account or device ID, plus privacy-friendly page-view analytics from Vercel and Cloudflare, which count visits without advertising cookies.
• Country (not stored). Our host tells us your country so we can decide whether to show an optional shopping link. We don’t keep it.

How we use it

• To score your quiz, show your result and free tip, and build your share card.
• To build your 7-day starter plan and, if you buy it, your AI report.
• To generate your AI report we send the quiz result, the answers you chose and your dog profile to an AI provider. We do not send your email.
• To email you your plan as a short daily email for 7 days, then a check-in and occasional training tips, if you agreed to that. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
• To save which days and checklist items you tick off in your report, so they are there on your next visit.
• To process payments and prevent fraud and abuse.
• To send the sign-in or confirmation emails you request.
• To understand which quizzes help people and to fix problems.

Who we share it with

We use service providers who process data on our behalf:

• Supabase: database and sign-in.
• Vercel: hosting and analytics.
• Our payment provider (Stripe, or another one we name here if we change): payments.
• Cloudflare: Web Analytics (cookieless page-view counts) and Turnstile bot protection when you start a guest session or request a sign-in link.
• An AI model provider: report text.
• An email delivery provider: magic-link and confirmation emails, and plan or tips emails if you agreed to them.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our users and service.

Browser storage

We use your browser’s local storage (not advertising cookies) to keep your guest session, your device ID, and which checklist items you have ticked. These are needed for the service to work. Our payment provider may set its own cookies on its checkout pages.

How long we keep it

We keep account data, results and purchase records while your account is active and as needed for accounting and fraud prevention. Usage events are kept for a limited time for analytics. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information by emailing firstpaw@smmile.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have additional rights, including objecting to some processing and complaining to your local data protection authority. We will respond within the time required by law.

Children

FirstPaw is not meant for children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age). If you think a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app. See also our Terms of Use.
