Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use FirstPaw, run by SMMILE DIGITAL PTE LTD (“we”). By using the service you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use FirstPaw.

1. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old (or older if your country requires it) to use FirstPaw. If you are under the age of majority where you live, make sure a parent or guardian is okay with you making purchases.

2. General guidance, not professional advice

Quiz results, plans and reports are general training guidance for dog owners. They are not veterinary or behavioural diagnosis and are not a substitute for a vet or a certified behaviourist. Reports are written by an AI model from a fixed template and may be wrong or not suit your dog. For severe distress, aggression, or self-harm, talk to your vet or a certified behaviourist. You are responsible for your dog’s care and safety.

3. Your account

You can play as a guest. Guest accounts live in your browser, so clearing your browser data can make them inaccessible. Adding and confirming an email lets you sign in again with a magic link. You are responsible for keeping your email account secure.

4. Reports and purchases

  • A purchase gives you one report credit, and one credit unlocks one full report. The price is shown before you pay and is charged through our payment provider.
  • Credits are tied to your account, can’t be transferred or sold, and have no cash value. Credit codes we give out work the same way.
  • Credits do not expire unless we tell you in advance.
  • All purchases are final (see No refunds below).
  • Unlocking the same report again is free. A credit is only used once a report has been successfully generated.

5. No refunds

All purchases are final. We do not offer refunds for credits or reports, whether used or unused, except where the law requires otherwise. Please make sure you want a report before you unlock it.

  • A report is delivered to you digitally and immediately when you unlock it. By completing a purchase you ask us to deliver it right away and you acknowledge that, to the extent the law allows, you give up any right to cancel or withdraw once delivery has begun.
  • If a report fails to generate, no credit is used, so there is nothing to refund: just try again. If you were charged but your credits did not arrive, or you were charged twice by mistake, email firstpaw@smmile.com and we will correct your account.
  • This section does not limit any rights you have under mandatory consumer law, for example where a product is defective or not as described, or where a charge was made without your authorization.
  • Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank or card issuer, so we can sort out any problem quickly.

6. Your 7-day plan and emails

Your result, free tip and 7-day starter plan are free. To unlock the plan we ask for your email and your consent, and we store your quiz answers and dog profile with it (see the Privacy Policy). We will email your plan to you as a short daily email for 7 days and may send occasional training tips; every email has an unsubscribe link and you can unsubscribe at any time. Links to a training course or to shops are optional extras, and some may be affiliate links.

7. Acceptable use

  • Don’t break, overload or probe the service, or try to get around payments or limits.
  • Don’t scrape our content or use automated tools to take quizzes or create accounts.
  • Don’t use FirstPaw to harass or harm others, or to break the law.

8. Our content and yours

The quizzes, results, designs and reports are ours or our licensors’ and are protected by law. You may share your result cards and links for personal, non-commercial purposes. By taking a quiz you let us store and process your answers to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Third-party services

Payments are handled by our payment provider and sign-in by our authentication provider. Their terms apply to their services. We are not responsible for third-party sites you reach through shared links.

10. Disclaimers

FirstPaw is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise it will always be available, error-free or that reports will be accurate or suit your purposes, to the fullest extent the law allows.

11. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim related to FirstPaw is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Changes and ending

We may update these terms or the service. If a change is significant we will update the date above. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. You can stop using FirstPaw at any time.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and disputes will be handled in its courts, unless local consumer law says otherwise.
